What is Dockdogs all about?

Dockdogs is an great sport that you can do with your dog. We do not discriminate against any breeds. Purebred and Mix Breeds are welcome to play. Dogs with disabilities are also welcome. Dockdogs have had 3-legged dogs, deaf dogs, and even blind dogs participate. Your dog must be at least 6 months old and the handler must be 7 years or older.

Dockdogs has three different contests: Big Air (BA), Extreme Vertical (EV), and Speed Retrieve (SR).

Big Air is the long jump for dogs. This competition is what started it all. Each dog and their "handler" are a team. That team competes head-to-head with the other teams to see who can jump the farthest. Measurements are taken from the end of the dock to where the tail meets the butt of the dog.

Extreme Vertical is the high jump. A bumper is suspended from an extender. The challenge is to get that bummper down. As each dog goes, the hight increases. The current record is 8'3".

Speed Retrieve is the race to the bumper. A bumper is suspended at the end of the pool. There is a start line painted on the dock. The goal is to get to the bummper in the fastest time.
